Our Story
Wheelock & Sons Welding Shop was established in 1946 by Raymond Wheelock. He opened a small shop just nine miles west of Traverse City and started repairing various equipment from area farmers. Raymond prided himself on the quality of his work and his ability to help his neighbors.
Addison, Raymond's son, and his wife Bonny took over the family business in 1960. The quality of their work continued to gain notoriety in the community and demand for their services quickly grew. Together, Addison and Bonny grew Wheelock & Sons Welding from a small, one room shop into a 10,000+ square foot repair and custom fabrication facility. With the help of their two sons, Addison Jr. ("Sonny") and Randy, their services expanded to include sandblasting, powder coating, and more diverse custom projects.
In 2002, Wheelock & Sons Welding was passed down to the 3rd generation, as Sonny and Randy took ownership. The principles established by Raymond Wheelock back in the 1940's of hard work, quality products, reasonable pricing, and top notch customer service are what Wheelock & Sons Welding, Inc. continues to strive to provide its loyal customer base.
